Momentum appears to be gaining however as shown by the newest addition of Celler Descregut bringing the number of Corpinnat producers to a respectable 10 in total now. When asking owner, Marc Milà why they decided to move from DO Cava to Corpinnat he said, “There’s a guarantee with the name, Corpinnat. You know that the cellar whose name is on the wine is the one who actually made the wine.” This references the fact that the largest Cava houses are working mainly in commodity terms, buying in base wine to push out large quantities of sparkling wine that they dial down or up depending upon marketing conditions.
